What these terms cover
These terms cover your use of our websites and the work we do for you. Your written estimate, contract or invoice describes your specific job. If it conflicts with these terms, your estimate, contract or invoice controls for that job. By using our websites or hiring us, you accept these terms.
Estimates and pricing
- We give you a written estimate before we start work. It states the price, what is included and how long the price is good for.
- Repair visits may carry a service call or diagnostic fee. We tell you the amount when you book, it appears on your estimate or invoice, and we tell you the repair price before any repair work starts.
- Prices on our websites are examples or typical ranges, not quotes. Your price is the one on your written estimate.
- If we find something during the job that changes the work or the price, we stop and ask for your approval before continuing, unless continuing is needed to leave the door safe.
- Taxes and any permit or disposal fees appear on your estimate or invoice.
Scheduling and access
We schedule work in appointment windows during the branch’s business hours. Arrival times are estimates and are not guaranteed. Please make sure we can reach the garage, with vehicles moved and pets secured, and that an adult 18 or older is present. If you need to cancel or move an appointment, tell us as early as you can.
Payment
Payment is due as stated on your estimate or invoice. Special-order doors and parts may require a deposit before we order them. Accepted payment methods are listed on your estimate or invoice.
Your right to cancel
If you signed your contract in your home, you may have the right to cancel within three business days. Your contract explains how. Once a special-order product is in production, the order can no longer be canceled, except where the law gives you that right.
Products and special orders
- Doors, openers and other products are covered by their manufacturers’ warranties. Those warranties have their own terms, and we will help you file a claim.
- Special-order products are made to your specifications. Once production starts, the order cannot be returned, and the deposit is not refundable, except where the law requires otherwise.
- Color, finish and woodgrain samples and photos are close but not exact. Slight variation is not a defect.
- We do not install customer-supplied doors, openers or parts unless we agree in writing, and no workmanship warranty applies to them.
Our workmanship warranty
Every installation and repair we perform is covered by a one-year labor warranty from the date of the work, covering the quality of our workmanship. It does not cover damage from theft, fire, hail, flood, wind or other acts of nature; paint applied after manufacture; alterations or additions to the door after installation; exposure to fumes, ash, cement dust, animal waste or other foreign substances; contact with lead, copper or galvanic material; service or repair by anyone else after our work; or improper maintenance, handling, misuse or abuse. After the warranty period, repair and replacement costs are your responsibility. All other warranties, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are excluded to the extent the law allows.
How to file a warranty claim
- Contact the branch that did the work within 30 days of discovering the problem, and within the one-year warranty period.
- Give us your name, the job address, the date of the work and a description of the problem. A photo helps.
- We will schedule a visual inspection. If we confirm a valid claim, we will repair, reinstall, redo the work or issue a refund, at our choice.
For a manufacturer’s warranty, we will tell you what the manufacturer needs and help you submit it.

Safety
Garage door springs, cables and openers are under high tension and can cause serious injury. Do not attempt repairs yourself. Information on our websites, including blog posts, is general and is not a substitute for an inspection. We may decline or stop work we consider unsafe. If you decline a repair we recommend, you accept the related risk.
Your responsibilities
You confirm that you own the property or have the owner’s permission to order the work, and that you have told us about anything unusual at the site. We are not responsible for existing problems with framing, headers, floors or electrical service, but we will tell you if we see one.
Licenses
Where a state or local license or registration is required for our work, its number is shown in the footer of the brand’s website.
Reviews
Reviews on our websites come from Google and other review platforms and appear as the customer wrote them. We do not edit them, and we do not pay for reviews or offer anything in exchange for them.
Using our websites
You may use our websites to learn about our services, contact us and request estimates. You may not interfere with them, scrape them, submit false or harmful content, or use them for anything unlawful. The text, photos and design belong to us or are licensed to us. Links to other sites are for convenience, and those sites have their own terms. Product details and prices change, and we do not guarantee our websites are always current or error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, our liability for any claim related to our websites or our work is limited to the amount you paid us for that work. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, such as lost use of your garage or lost income. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, or your rights under your state’s consumer protection laws.
Governing law
The law of the state where we did the work governs any claim about that work. Virginia law governs use of our websites. Before filing anything, please call us. Most problems are solved with a phone call.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version. Changes apply to work ordered after that date.
